models for selling software

I hope this is not too off-topic for the forum ... but does anyone know of any good {blogs,websites} that discuss the pros and cons of the various options one has for selling one's software? e.g. freeware+donation vs shareware vs commercial ... and then the various options for copy-protection e.g. none vs serial# vs timeout vs annoying msg, etc.
