Not really, no. The first link, has a link to iTableView, which
sounds like it's exactly what I need, but unfortunately it's 404ed, a
google search for iTableView can't find any non 404s.
A search for iTunes split view turns up this post and not much else.
And a search for address book view turns up a lot of people asking how
to do it, and no one answering, so I guess I really do need to do this
one myself.
