Custom Bundle types

Hi,

I would like to save data in a directory. But I would like that 
directory to be presented to the user as a single file (as with 
application/framework bundles). The bundle would have a specific 
extension and icon, and clicking the bundle should open my 
application. I know that apple has created new bundle types (for 
instance the Photo vault in Aperture), but I don't know how I can 
define custom bundles.

Can somebody tell me or direct me to relevant documentation?
