SearchKit - SKDocumentCreateWithURL

Is it possible to get an SKDocumentRef from SKDocumentCreateWithURL 
using an URL with a relative component? When my code calls it with 
the aforementioned URL, I get NULL back. When I convert the URL to an 
absolute URL, it succeeds.
