Hidden NSSlider

In Interface Builder I create an NSImageView, assign a
picture.tif to it, and then create an NSSlider and
place it on top of the picture. Back in XCode I build
and run and the NSSlider is hidden behind the
NSImageView Why? How can I fix this?
