'fi' ligatures

I filed a bug <rdar://4097772> which describes a problem where 'fi' 
will show up as a combined ligature in plain text e-mails and documents.

For example, in TextEdit, set your Format in the prefs to Plain Text.

Make a new document and type in words that begin with 'fi' (e.g. 
file).  Notice that once you type the 'i', it will combine with the 'f'.

Anyone else seeing this?

Also, I am _not_ seeing this issue at all with NSTextFields; seems to 
be isolated to Mail.app and TextEdit.app.
