Hmm. That hasn't been my experience. For a while I had some version
of Yellow Dog installed on a TiBook and ran, at separate times, Jaguar
and Panther in MOL sessions with no issues that I can recall. I was
very impressed... it really did seem virtually as fast as just running
Jaguar or Panther directly. I never did go to the trouble of figuring
out how to run Jaguar and Panther side by side in simultaneous MOL
sessions, though. I don't think I ever tried a Tiger seed in MOL,
though, nor have I tried compiling MOL to run on Mac OS X.
Things I recall doing in the MOL sessions included running Mail.app,
iTunes, Office v.X, and ProjectBuilder/Xcode/IB. IIRC, I had some
occasional wake-from-sleep freezes with YDL, though, and ultimately
decided to switch back to just Mac OS X. I was also disappointed
because I wanted to dabble in Java 5 and I assumed running Linux would
let me do so... then I quickly found that Java is not well supported on
PowerPC Linux... I think I could only find 1.3.x.
I look forward to seeing an official native build of MOL for Mac OS X!
