Mail Plug-in

I am attempting to modify GrowlMail. I want it to tell me how many
messages I received, but the userInfo in the MailAccountFetchCompleted
notification object only tells me whether new mail was recieved or not,
not how many messages.

Is there a way to get this knowledge? Or, perhaps a better notification?
