Ouch, not a simple task. (To add a comment to a file inside cocoa)
It seems the cheap and dirty solution is to NSTask the dev tool SetFile.
However, I have read numerous warnings about using SetFile in OS X.
My question is, it seems there are two versions of SetFile out there.
One allows the changing of comments see...
http://developer.apple.com/tools/mpw-tools/commandref/setfile.html
The other "standard" SetFile does not.
Now, I have kept up with all the adc and OSX updates, but my system has
the old (2001) SetFile without the ability to change comments.
Does anyone know of this fabled new SetFiles or Which Tarball in Darwin
one could download to get it?
By the way thanks for your help the HFS+ system is still somewhat of a
mystery to me, and your assistance has enlightened me.
