the same kind of situation arises if you have an iCal alert and your 
machine is frozen. I haven't looked into what you're doing, but I'd 
suggest looking into something that deals with the Preferences pane, 
which you can set to have the machine 'wake up'. It might be as simple 
as something in a plist, but then again it might not....
