NSCell spanning columns

Hi,

I would like to create an outline view that looks something like this:

Name            /  Kind                / Date Modified
---------------------------------------------------------
V Here is some descriptive text that spans across columns
  foo.app          Application              10/31/04
  foo.txt          Text Document            10/31/04

Is there way to display a row that spans like one single column in the
display in an NSOutlineView?
