ABPeoplePickerView in modal Windows

Hello

I have a ABPeoplePickerView placed in a modal Window.
The search only works when the user clicks on the magnification glass
symbol - not while typing.

Another problem is, that when I try to disable the controls of this
ABPeoplePickerView (by looping through it's subviews and applying
setEnabled:NO to the controls) not all controls become disabled.

Some one else experienced this behaviors?
