No, you're right. I was definitely taking the lazy way out. But I think
the Cocoa docs should have a warning that it's not just a HIG issue,
it's a stability issue too.

Seth Johnson mailed me off-list a nice workaround that maintains a
queue of alert messages, a handle to the window, and shows the sheets
one at a time.
