Is there a public (or even a private) API for Cocoa applications to
programmatically control the Dock for MacOSX 10.2?
In particular, I would like the "mouse-over" text that shows for my docked
application (even when not running) to be something different than the
filename of the application, even if the user dragged the application to the
dock via the finder when the app was not running. (In this case the
CFBundleName string does not appear to be used, as it is when "Keep In Dock"
is chosen for a running application.)
Also, is there any way to programmatically add/remove icons from the Dock?
For example, can an installer support an option of adding the installed
application to the dock for the user?
Thanks,
-John
