[Request] Mail.app maildir/mbox format spec

I'm trying to find specifications for Apple's Mail.app
maildir format.

It appears that each .mbox is a package which contains, among other
things, an actual .mbox file.

I've seen references to these as maildir mailboxes but they don't
appear to be like those described in the qmail maildir format.

I'll RTFM if I could just _Find_ TFM,
