MySQL is pretty good (and free) although I've only used it for web-based
stuff. There are good installation instructions at
http://www.entropy.ch/software/macosx/mysql/, and also an articla in Nov
MacWorld magazine. It does lack some of the more advanced SQL commands
(sacrificed for speed). If you need those try postgres.
