OutlineView Drag and Drop Advice

Heya --
I have set up drag-and-drop in an outlineView, and its working well (thanks to the AnguishBuckYacktman book!). I have it handling entirely internal drag-and-drop, and I would like a drag to _move_ an item, as opposed to copying it. The ABY book suggests this is tricky to do; I was just wondering if anyone had any advice or strategies about how to go about this.
