3d visualization

  • I want to incorporate 3D surface plotting of some data. Obviously a Cocoa framework would be nice. But I have no problem with any C or C++ library. Even a command line utility that I use via NSTask. Heck, even a Java lib that I wrap up myself into a command-line utility to be used via NSTask...

    Suggestions?

    Maybe VTK:
    <http://www.vtk.org>

    Cross platform OpenGL-based C++, but also provides an NSView subclass.

    Yes indeed. That page itself is not up to date, but is a gold mine of project names & search terms which has led me to some libraries that appear to be very good fits for my requirements.

    Just found it a few minutes ago, based on searches inspired by the page Chris found--appears to be an excellent fit.

  • The link seems to be missing, because I can not see Chris's original
    contribution to this thread.  It does not seem to be archived either,
    although "message not available appears."

    Doesn't appear because I sent my email to the OP, not the list. Anyway, here's the link:

    It's old, but as noted, it leads to some useful stuff.
