PBX indexing locks up--how to recover the project?

  This is pretty annoying.
  
  PBX's indexer is locking up the entire IDE on one particular source file of mine. I need to destroy the indices, but the only way to do that seems to be to use PBX. Unfortunately, I can't seem to hit Stop Indexing fast enough.
  
  I'd really hate to recreate this pbproj from scratch as I've finally got it just the way I like it.
