Are there any docs anywhere about this system?
The only use I have found of it is in a piece of software mentioned on this list called DSBRTuner. However DSBRTuner is not a very in-depth example.
At the developer sessions held at MacWorld SF 2001 one of the Apple guys made a vague reference to writing USB drivers at the app level instead of the kernel level and it looks like IOUSBLib would work for this (based on how DSBRTuner works).
