Secure System Preferences

  • Is there an simply option to implement secure system preferences which
require an administrator to login to make changes. I have a system
preferance panel as part of my application which I would like to secure to
prevent "ordinary" users from making changes and force them to use an
    administrator account instead.

Kind regards and thanks in advance

  • Use SFAuthorizationView from SecurityInterface.framework.

  • Well, that won't prevent users from changing their own preferences.
man defaults(1) for more info.  You can use the Security framework to
do this, but you'll have to store the preferences elsewhere (outside
    of User Defaults).
