disable quick look server for files

  Hello,
  
  I have a program that downloads files. Some users are reporting that
  the Quick Look Server is using a large amount of cpu when downloads
  are in progress, but I cannot find a way to exclude downloading files
  from quick look like you can for time machine. Is there a way to do
