Twitter NSURLConnection Authentication

  • Hello everyone,

I have been fiddling around with the Twitter API and NSURLConnection.
The current problem is that when "requesting"
    http://twitter.com/statuses/user_timeline.xml the
    connection:didReceiveAuthenticationChallenge: never gets called.
However, I do get some data back, a HTML header saying "Status = 401
    Unauthorized." I could do
    username:password@http://twitter.com/statuses/user_timeline.xml but I
use the same delegate methods for URLs that doesn't require
authentication and I don't want to give out the username and password
    unless I have to.

Somehow Safari can load the URL mentioned, somehow it realizes that it
needs the username and password so asks for them. How can I tell the
same thing for any given URL?

    Thanks, Alan
