need to act like a browser using SOPE

  • I have a need to use SOPE <http://sope.opengroupware.org/en/> to make
an app that is a front end to another company's webapp (with their
blessing but not their help).  I need to be able to interact with
their website and submit forms etc based on input from my users.

If anyone has pointers to good ObjC based ideas that could interface
with SOPE to parse html and create responses etc, I would appreciate
the pointers.  I am looking to see if WebKit's DOMCore might be of
use, as I understand it has been open sourced.  But if anyone has
gone down a similar path, I would appreciate pointers.

    Thanks

SOPE contains an HTML SAX driver (based on libxml2) and a DOM
implementation. So I'm not sure what you need DOMCore for (though the
HTML is probably better than the libxml2 one, which I suppose doesn't
    matter).

Well and for submitting forms you can use WORequest / WOHTTPConnection.

Oh, ok, when reviewing the SOPE features website before I posted this
it was not clear that there was an HTML driver there.  Thanks for the
info.  I thought there might be something.  Need to play with it.
Have not done this sort of thing before.  Did a bunch of WO 4.5.x
stuff way back when but nothing in recent years except Cocoa / AppKit
    work...

Probably not for this purpose.  Pretty simple actually.

    yes

    thanks!
