How do I use NSTreeController?

  • I want to bind a NSTreeController to work with both a NSOutlineView
and NSBrowser. But I don't know enough about bindings to be able to
figure out how to do it. I've read CocoaDevCentrals intro on bindings
but not Apples. It seems that NSTreeController is not a very well
documented controller because it has been discussed on here before.

    Many thanks, Alan

  • Well, I strongly recommend you work on a tutorial for an
NSArrayController and NSTableView first.  It should help a lot!

  • Yes, I did. CocoaDevCentral's is about NSArrayControllers and NSTableViews.

  • Check out the example code in Examples>CoreData>OutlineEdit.  I'm
just learning about NSTreeControllers, myself, and looking at that
    code is helping a lot.

  • Looks like I should learn more about CoreData first than.

    Thanks, Alan

  • That's a good idea, but from what I've seen, it shouldn't take too
much to get you up and running.
