No, but in Germany. I reckon, it will be a good one ;-)

I'd also recommend telling Apple Australia about it. If there's
enough call for it, they can get Apple Training to offer the course.

Well, I know of a couple of other cocoa people in Sydney who are
considering starting a users group.
Anyone else in Sydney that's interested?
Anyone know of a contact at Apple Australia I could email to see about
setting up a users group?

One day a student came to Moon and said, "I understand how to make
a better garbage collector. We must keep a reference count of the
pointers
to each cons."
Moon patiently told the student the following story -- "One day a

At this point, I'm going to assume that you're a registered Apple
Developer. If not, the first thing you should do is go to
developer.apple.com and register.
There was a recent 'about Tiger' event in Sydney that was publicised to
developers registered from Australia. 4 Apple evangelists attended to
preview / discuss Tiger technology. It was quite informative, and useful
even if you're not yet developing for Tiger.
A quick look at the Apple (AU) web site failed to reveal a developer
contact, so I suggest you ring Apple Computer Australia (133 622) and ask
for the developer liaison's e-mail. Such a person does exist and is quite
active, though I don't have her exact title or e-mail to handle.
http://developer.apple.com/contact/ also has a specific button to contact
ADC Australia.

Thx Andrew - yep am ADC-select member, so was invited to the tiger
thing but a nasty dentist appointment knocked me out for those 2 days..
:-(
It seems like there may be a couple of people here who are interested
in starting something.
thx for the contact info.

DOS Beer: Requires you to use your own can opener, and requires you to
read the directions carefully before opening the can. Originally only
came in an 8-oz. can, but now comes in a 16-oz. can. However, the can is
divided into 8 compartments of 2 oz. each, which have to be accessed
separately. Soon to be discontinued, although a lot of people are going
to keep drinking it after it's no longer available. -
G'day All,
how about Melbourne?
Are there any other cocoa developers here in Melbourne?
Daniel -
Just a quick email to follow up on this.
1. UNSW is thinking of offering a cocoa/obj-c course sometime in
June/July - I am following up on this.
2. I emailed Craig Bradley to see if there is anyone else in Sydney
offering anything.
If anyone else on this list is interested in training or perhaps
setting up a user-group you can email me off-list and if enough people
show interest, we'll get something started!
Cheers.

Real computer scientists don't write code. They occasionally tinker
with
`programming systems', but those are so high level that they hardly
count
(and rarely count accurately; precision is for applications). -
I'm interested in training from a different perspective - we may have a
few job openings coming up for Cocoa developers up here in Brisbane.
We're currently looking for more senior people, but later on could
potentially look at bringing on some people to come on as understudies
and grow into more senior roles.
